It’s the last day of my second set of beads. And my weight finally dropped again. In a nice big chunk. And the body fat dropped too. Great. Over 15 pound lost in 18 days. The 15 pounds are “guaranteed” per month. If I don’t lose anything the next 12 days I’m still on target. Of course that’s not my wish, I would like to be done by the end of the month. Now that would be nice. Very nice.

It is a good thing that my scale not only shows weight loss but also fat and water percentages of the body and other stuff too. Else I would be now distraut. My weight has again gone up by almost 1/2 pound.
With other words, since about 4 days I am making – weight wise – a little Yo-Yo dance between the same numbers. So apparently I am not losing any weight. But, as mentioned in earlier posts, I was always a bit weary of the fast weight loss because my body fat percentage did not budge, not at all. That should have gone down too. Several percents even. But it didn’t. Usually it goes like this for me on my scale:
- If I lose weight but BF goes high, I know that it’s more water than usual and that my weight inevitably will go up again and the BF number drop.
- If I don’t lose weight and the BF goes down I know I have too little water and need to hydrate better.
- Correct thing is that weight and BF needs to go lower in ‘harmony’.
Losing 12 pounds with the BF staying put, I knew that this will at some point counter-balance. That point is now. As frustrating it is, at the same time it is relieving as now I see the FAT that I have lost on the scale: 2.7% by this morning. The body fat percentage the scale showed today is what I would expect it to be around my current weight. I’ve never been this low with this scale so I am not sure. Will see how it evens out over the next few days.
And I do hope to lose weight again soon – it is an incredible motivation booster.
Day NINE

Today is the day were I get to change my beads before going to bed. New pressure points after that. And today is a day which feels like a win. Not only that I have lost more weight, but also my body fat is now finally dropping better and I also look a bit less puffed up. The past couple of days I drank roughly 1/4 more than recommended, but feel I could do even better and will continue working at this. I also had a good night sleep, it seems the chills are pretty much gone. My left arm still needs some slight attention, but absolutely no tingling, that is fully gone.
The big win though that I had this morning was looking for a pair of pants that fit me from my closet.
I knew that from a pair of slacks I like wearing that I had the same pants a size smaller in a 10, sitting far to the back tucked away. I had bought them either 2 or 3 years ago, thinking at the time that I’m almost there and with a little diet I could wear them. Since them I tried maybe 2 or 3 times to get in them but it was either not possible or such a squeeze it was ridiculous. So there they were, still tagged from the store. Of course you know what is coming: I tried them on and they went over hips and all in one fellow swoop. Not only do I fit into them, they are on the verge of falling off my hips and being too big! I hope they’ll keep on holding for another 2 weeks, I had not planned on buying clothes during the diet for the short time period I’m going to be on it. Hey, almost FALLING OFF. That’s a win. Definitely room between waste and body. Super cool. Last time I was down to this weight was 6 years ago when we moved to Kansas.
Day FIVE

Overall I am doing well. Had a good night of sleep. Yesterday I made a point of drinking really a lot – more than the suggested half of body weight in fluid ounces – and the body fat indeed is now dropping. The weight itself dropped a little but not much. Overall I feel that now the ‘true’ weight loss is kicking in. What I mean by that is that I had rapidly gained 5 pounds over the past 3 weeks (which I call “fluff weight”) – I’m now down 7.4 lb since I began, and not to invalidate this number (alright, alright, I do a little), but as I see it, ‘hardcore weight’ that I lost so far is 2.4 lb. That is a GOOD number.
Day THREE

YAY, today I’ll get some solid foods! Definitely looking forwards to it.
My scale shows 6.8 pounds less than when I began.
The dimmer on the joy is that I am obviously drinking too little water as my body fat percentage has gone up, it is 3% higher than it usually is in this weight range. I’ve always found a correlation between the BF and LB numbers on my (Tania) scale and with this can anticipate weight fluctuation and/or “true” weight indication. My BF now should be around 32% but it’s 35%. What I can expect – this at least is true for the past – is that when I am sufficiently hydrated the BF percentage will drop and the weight will go up and I’ll show my “true” weight. To ensure that I’ll work on the hydration, I began tracking this morning on how much liquid I truly drink per day. Will try and get specific, recommended numbers as I only know that A LOT is good, but as A LOT for some people means 6 cups and for others 12 a day I’m a bit in the air.
