TRANSITION : Week 1 – Day 1

It has finally arrived.

Once again. A first day of something new. T-R-A-N-S-I-T-I-O-N !!! It feels wonderful and exhilarating.

Only 7 more days of rubbing beads and then they are gone, gone, gone. Of course, it’s not “back to normal” and I still can’t have my frittata nor some chocolate nor can I mix dairy and veggies. But I can have PROTEIN – fish or chicken. WOW. And I can eat until 8 pm. NICE. There is even some (light) allowance on VINEGAR. Yumm, Balsamic Vinegar and salads! One thing back to ‘normal’. Even more! I can have a fruit at any time, even after 8 pm.

Having some of the restrictions removed truly feels like heaven. And I celebrated it accordingly. After my swim this morning I stopped by Whole Foods Market to grab some fresh fish, nice veggies and delicious fruit. I am ready for the next 5 days! And I had my first fish! Wonderful.

Winning items

BASKIN ROBBINS Sugar Free Hard Candies

The Accu-Weight mailing list is full of helpful people and ideas. I followed a few of those suggestions and here is what I have found so far.

Got a new item on the “YES can do and it also tastes good” list and that’s SNAPPLE Green Tea Peach zero calorie drink. It does not taste horrendously fake, the peach is mellow and soft but nicely distinct and no hint of bitterness from the tea and it also is not overly sweetened. Perfect.

Also, a big, big winner are the sugar free BASKIN ROBINS Hard Candies. No fake sweetener hint in them! And perfectly 10 calories of which you are allowed to have 6 per day, at any time. And yes, it’s the same logo and the same company which if famous for their ice creams, even though on their own site they only hype the ice cream itself.

Delicious.

In case you EVER forget how delicious cherries are, try milk and no solids for 2 days and then have one. That meat is so meaty, so juicy, so heavenly sweat. I AM in heaven right now. Now to the hard part: no cheating. How many cherries equal a piece of fruit? The equivalent of 1 small fruit is 1 cup. It is hard not just to eyeball it, so tempting but so easy to overdo it then. The only way to adhere is to measure it.
